-Biology, Diagnosis and Treatment planning of hard tissue defects and science behind discussed
-Principles used Guided Bone Regeneration and Khoury Plate /Split Bone Technique Reviewed (Developing a decision tree)
-Treatment planning, Flap Design and Management in Bone Augmentation procedures will be reviewed in great detail. Harvesting techniques from the external oblique ridge will be reviewed and practiced in hands on part of the course
-Autogenous vs Allograft in Khoury Split bone techniques vs Variety of GBR methods will be compared and contrasted
– Course will review a wide range of defects and clinical situation to help preparing site for implant placement (socket management, deficient ridge management, horizontal and vertical defect management, autogenous and allo plate management)
-Review of Bone and Membrane Biomaterials and suture variations involved will be discussed
– Soft tissue management involved in hard tissue site development will be reviewed in detail (FGG/CTG/VIP CTG/Periosteal Flap release/Mylohyoid Lingual Release)
– Membrane stabilization techniques reviewed and practiced in Hands on: Internal Mattress suture stabilization and Bone Tacks/Pins
– Management of post operative complications.
-3 day Hands-on on models and pig jaws performing GBR technique (sling suture membrane stabilization and bone tacking techniques), suturing techniques (Graft and flap), bone harvesting and site preparation techniques, bone augmentation using resorbable membranes, Buccal and lingual release of the flaps and how to achieve primary wound closure.
– Khoury Plate harvesting techniques and Split plate technique fixation vs alloplate fixation.
-24 CE credits will be provided by the end of the course.
