US Dental Cerritos CA
This intensive 3-day course is designed for general practitioners and specialists who want to expand their understanding and surgical skills in soft tissue management around dental implants.
The course will cover the biology, diagnosis, and treatment planning of mucogingival and peri-implant soft tissue defects, with emphasis on understanding the biologic principles that influence both soft- and hard-tissue stability.
Participants will learn the principles of esthetic and non-esthetic soft tissue augmentation around implants, with a strong focus on developing a practical decision-making process for selecting the appropriate surgical approach. Particular attention will be given to the esthetic zone, including the reconstruction and augmentation of combined hard- and soft-tissue deficiencies.
Topics will include recipient- and donor-site preparation, graft harvesting, graft selection, stabilization, and donor-site protection. Techniques discussed and practiced will include:
Free Gingival Grafts (FGG)
Connective Tissue Grafts (CTG)
VIP-CTG and other pedicled graft techniques
Socket seal procedures
Tuberosity grafts
Autogenous soft tissue grafts
Non-autogenous soft tissue substitutes
The course will also compare autogenous tissue with alternative biomaterials used for peri-implant soft tissue augmentation, including their indications, advantages, limitations, and appropriate clinical applications.
Additional topics will include flap design, tissue release, suturing techniques, suture materials, graft stabilization, wound closure, and management of postoperative complications.
A major component of the course is extensive hands-on training using pig jaws. Participants will perform free gingival grafts, connective tissue grafts, donor-site harvesting, recipient-site preparation, graft positioning and stabilization, suturing techniques, and flap-management procedures.
Hands-on exercises will also demonstrate techniques used before, during, and after bone augmentation procedures to optimize soft tissue conditions in preparation for implant therapy.
The goal of this course is to give participants a stronger understanding of peri-implant soft tissue biology while developing a practical and reproducible surgical approach that can be applied to both routine and complex implant cases.
24 PACE-approved continuing education credits will be provided upon completion of the course.
Refund Policy: Refunds are available for cancellations made at least 30 days prior to the event. Stripe credit card processing fees are non-refundable.
